Installation of extraction tank

The installation of extraction tank mainly involves the alignment and leveling of tank body, the installation and connection of auxiliary pipelines, and the installation and adjustment of various valves.

Alignment and leveling of equipment

Adjust and measure according to the installation datum line corresponding to the datum measuring point on the equipment. The bottom elevation of equipment support shall be based on the elevation datum line on the foundation. The center line of the equipment shall coincide with the center line of the foundation.

The alignment and leveling of extraction tank should be carried out in two or more directions which form a right angle to each other in a plane, because one direction is easy to produce large error. The leveling accuracy shall be adjusted by pad iron (or other) according to the requirements. It is not allowed to adjust by fastening or loosening the anchor bolts and nuts, or by local pressure.

The elevation can be measured by level instrument or measuring pole. If not, Jack or crane can be used to lift the tank body and adjust it with pad iron.

The verticality can be calibrated by theodolite or plumb line method. When using theodolite, the measuring points must be marked on the upper and lower parts of the tank before hoisting. After the tank body is in place, the verticality error can be measured by measuring the mark points on the top and bottom of the tank body with theodolite. Generally, the perpendicularity error of tank body is not allowed to exceed 1/1000.

During installation, the quantity of pad iron shall be reduced as much as possible.

Precautions for pipeline installation

Before installation, the space size, material, temperature and pressure grade of pipeline layout shall be carefully checked according to the piping drawing to ensure that the size, specification and performance meet the requirements.

Check the levelness, perpendicularity and the position of bolt hole of each connecting pipe flange surface carefully.

For the pipeline welded on site, the predetermined pipe section should be connected and fixed with the tank nozzle according to the normal installation requirements before welding, and then welded. Do not use temporary fastening welding to avoid affecting the performance of flange sealing surface.

For the installation of instruments on the pipeline, such as flowmeter, pressure gauge, thermometer, etc., the installation orientation must be clear. The in and out direction should be accurate.

The flange shall be welded with the pipe before installation. When the flange is welded with the pipe section with elbow, attention shall be paid to the space position of the flange bolt hole.

Flange connection is the main leakage point of the pipeline, so great attention should be paid to the installation. The allowable deviation of flange installation is shown in the table below

Valve installation

  • Check the valve before installation, and check the material, pressure and temperature class of the valve.
  • Check whether the valve fasteners, packing and gasket meet the requirements of working medium properties.
  • Check whether the valve is flexible, whether it is stuck or not, and close it tightly.

During installation, the valve should be in a closed state to prevent dirt from entering the valve and affecting its normal operation.

Precautions for valve installation

The valve shall be installed in a position convenient for maintenance.

In the horizontal pipeline, the valve stem should be installed vertically upward or inclined at a certain angle

For the stop valve, pay attention to the flow direction mark on the valve body, and make the medium flow from the bottom of the valve disc to the top.

The regulating valve and flowmeter should be installed after water washing and water circulation. The position of these instruments can be temporarily replaced by pipes of the same size. When the flowmeter is installed, it is necessary to pay attention to the straight pipe section before and after the flowmeter.

Other precautions for installation of extraction tank

  • Safety valve and pressure gauge should be installed behind steam valve;
  • The lowest point of the pipeline shall be equipped with drain valve and control valve, with obvious marks;
  • The compressed air package should have drain valve, pressure gauge and safety valve;
  • The liquid outlet pipe of extraction tank shall be equipped with pipeline sight glass to observe the liquid output;
  • According to GMP requirements, the extraction tank should be sealed.
